Day 0 of my exchange trip
Numero 1: Le premier fois pour un tres long vacances
Went to this Nonya restaurant (in theme with Xiao Niang Rer) at Joo Chiat Place near Eng Seng Restaurant for dinner before jetting off. Nice food, shall return after my exchange in May. Things to recommend for food
Babi Ponteh - Stewed Pork with green chilli
Ayam Bua Keluak - Spicy Chicken stewed in the traditional Bua Keluak (the essence is in this ok!)
Fishhead Assam Pedas - Not a big fan of Assam but since its fresh why not
Otah in Cabbage Roll - okok only
Sotong Hitam - Grilled Sotong in some weird thing
Highlight of the Night - Desserts (Chempedak Chendol, Sago Pudding & Chin Chow Sea Coconut)
Airport time - checked in my baggage with 2kg extra thks to the staff of Qantas who apparently struck a deal with Karen to waive our luggage until 35kg. Mine's only 32kg alright! haha
Flight - PHewwwww longest flight ever, luckily the nice staff of Qantas did a last minute swap for me at the gate that allows me to take an aisle seat which has no passenger behind (since its the last seat) so i could lean all the way back LUCKY! Long but not so long flight, its kinda cool when u fly 12 hrs and yet u still fly in the dark due to the change in timezones
